This Pub is Permanently Closed
The pub ceased trading in August 2023. An application for it to be turned into an ofice was made in June 2024 and this was approved in August 2024.
This successful micropub was open for ten years before being subject to a change of use permission.
The pub was an award winning micropub housed in the former stable block of the adjacent funeral directors in the village of St Peter's. It served four cask ales, real ciders on gravity dispense from chilled cabinets behind the bar counter, and locally produced wines along with tea & coffee. The bar floor is made of original cobbles. Outside was a covered wooden decked patio drinking area. It was Thanet CAMRA Pub of the Year 2015, Joint Thanet CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2015, Kent (East) CAMRA Pub of the Year 2015 & Kent CAMRA Pub of the Year 2015, eventually becoming one of the last four in CAMRA's National Pub of the Year for 2015 competition.
Historic Interest
The brick and flint former stable block is recognised as a local non-designated heritage asset due to its retained form and historical construction and dates from at least the 1850s.
