CAMRA accredited for serving consistently well-kept real ales.

Small one-bar pub in Denham Village conservation area, looking out onto the village green. The building which dates from the 18th century but has a smart interesting interior. Good food is served lunchtimes and evenings, with bar snacks supplementing the restaurant menu. Tea, coffee and Danish pastries served from 9am. Not a disabled person's pub - entrance via interesting worn old steps straight off the road, and the toilets are upstairs. Parking can sometimes be difficult, but there is easy access from Denham Station (900m) via the South Bucks Way footpath. High quality accommodation is offered. There is a lovely sunny garden to the rear.

Historic Interest

Gd II C18. Brown brick, tile roof with chimneys projecting from the tops of end gables. Two storeys, basement and attic. Three bargeboarded dormers. Moulded brick cornice. Window range of 5 sashes. Hanging inn sign on wrought iron brackets. Ground floor with 4 sashes with brick aprons and central entrance with wooden hood on brackets. Double converging flight of steps; plain cast iron railings. Basement with brick plinth containing 3 bricked in windows, on opening to cellars. All windows sashes with glazing bars, set flush and with aprons.
