Although this pub is located in the parish of Tunstall it is more often referred to as being in Snape (which is its postal address) and stands in front of the famous maltings.

There is a toilet for disabled customers.

The split level bar has been considerably extended in recent years to cope with increased demand for food.

Historic Interest

The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Plough & Sail's license was issued in 1813. Also listed at Snape bridge (in 1900-1922) & Dunningworth.
