This is a modern public bar above the Briarbank brewery. The entrance is to the rear, accessed from the yard.
The bar comprises a nicely furnished single room with a mixture of raised seating, comfortable bench seating and chairs around several wooden tables. The counter incorporates some barrels into its design and offers a range of up to three of Briarbank's own cask beers and some keg beers.
Live music (usually Jazz) has been a regular event on on the third Sunday of each month. A second bar was previously occasionally used in a small marquee in the adjoining yard during fine weather and/or events, but has recently been removed (as at January 2026). The future of the marquee (and related music events) is to be clarified.
Two beer festivals have been organised annually - one at Easter the other in late August.
Card only payments I.e. no cash is taken at the bar.
Historic Interest
The building was previously derelict for many years but was also at one time used as a bank.
