This Pub is Temporarily Closed
It was reported in the EADT that the pub would not be reopening after the end of lockdown. New tenants are being sought.
Reputedly the oldest pub in town, the Ram has been in continuous use since 1625, but was recorded at least as early as about 1563. Changed operator in 2019, but still Greene King so the usual selection of Greene King beers are on offer. Holds the Cask Marque Award for serving great quality real ale.
Historic Interest
Listed as an Ind Coope*** pub for many years & for a while as Taylor Walker (Ind Coope subsiduary). Since 1970 owned by Greene King A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Jun 1850 states that : Died on the 15th, aged 49, Susan, wife of Mr William Hurrell, of the Ram Inn, Hadleigh. Reopened in May 2013 as gastro pub. Proprietor was chef Oliver Macmillan who also owns The Swan in Long Melford.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
