This Hotel is Closed Long Term
This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
The Imperial Hotel in Henley was due to reopen in 2014 after refurbishment; it has been closed since 2006. It has not reopened (as in 2018, and still no sign of reopening as at 10 November 2021 and 9 May 2022). The black and white exterior had been repainted in early 2014 and work on the interior took place over the winter 2013/2014.
Hotel owner Dr Raymond Crockett, who lives in Remenham, was quoted in the Henley Standard 16 December 2013 "We're not recreating an old-fashioned hotel. It will have facilities equal to the best hotel in the world. People always ask me outside the hotel 'when will it be open?' but they all get the same answer of 'how long is a piece of string?'. This isn't an easy reconstruction of a hotel, it’s a very old place. There are certain things in the hotel that are virtually finished but a few areas that aren't.".
The hotel was built about 1897.
