This Pub is Closed Long Term
A traditional 16th Century family pub in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated on the Pennine Way long-distance footpath, the C2C long-distance cycleway and the South Tyne Trail, the George & Dragon is an ideal watering hole for refreshments and meeting fellow travellers. Meals will be served in the future. Check before travelling.

Listed as a Community Asset 5 December 2013. Closed 1.9.16 when Kenny & Paula Armer left. Reopened September 2017 closed 14.3.19
17th century coaching inn which has been opened-out. Over the bar is a large hinger cover with eight glass panels containing original drawings depicting Ritson's 'The Rights of the Dragon' with handwritten descriptions. Suggested by Solway Branch.
