Situated in a residential area, this free-house is very much part of the local community. The pub is served by a bar to the right-hand side. The tap room to the right is decorated with old sporting photographs and features a juke box. The tastefully redecorated lounge to the left has a pool table, is warmed by a multi-fuel stove and has some old photos of the pub. Some glazing from the long-gone Heys brewery remains in the porch itself and there is a small round Heys window to the right in the main wall. Children are welcome until 7 pm. A quiz is held on Wednesday nights starting 7.30pm and live music most Friday or Saturdays from 8pm. See Facebook for details.
Limited bus service (K4) to this end of the village, otherwise the nearest bus stop is on the main road beyond the Marquis of Granby (downhill all the way: use the signposted footpath down the steps almost directly opposite the pub door).
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 3 regular beers.
