Following a two-year closure, the Maypole reopened with new owners and new management in April 2022. The new owners have capitalised on the full refurbishment carried out not long before the closure and restored the pub ambience which had been lost. Food, however, is still a key offering - booking advisable at weekends. Popular with locals and visitors alike, the Maypole is a good base for exploring the Southern Yorkshire Dales and Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The bar, opposite the imposing front door, separates the main room into two areas and there is also a separate dining room. A small fenced off patio to the rear provides a pleasant outdoor drinking area in the afternoon sun.
