Demolished in June 2024, planning consent 23/04744/FUL was granted on 7/2/24. Housing is to be built on the site.
A 1960's estate pub originally built by Banks's Brewery to serve the newly built estate nearby (one of a pair in the town, the sister pub being the Charles Darwin). New management March 2013. For a time it doubled as a pub and an Indian restaurant, the signage remains but the 'experiment' has been discontinued (Feb 2015). The former lounge in the rear has been re-instated, though only tends to open during the Summer months (it has direct access to the garden area). A traditional community pub with noticeboards testament to sporting activities. The pub is on the edge of a nearby area of steel framed housing built by BISF in the immediate post-war period of the late 1940s. The local nickname of 'tin town', once an unflattering term is starting to acquire fashionable status.
The pub closed in 2016, and was used by the Shrewsbury Ark homeless charity for a while until 2023 when in became derelict.
