Spacious suburban pub located opposite the town police station.
Cavernous single bar with sparse furnishing. Large screens show sport. A further room to the side is used for storage. Has two handpumps, one serving a changing guest beer.
Historic Interest
Fairly typical of the large roadhouses built by William Butler of Wolverhampton in the 1920s, for many years after owned by M&B. Built specifically to serve the 500 house estate built nearby shortly after the First World War. The fairly recent addition of the Monk to the pub sign is not as crass as it may seem, a mere few hundred years ago the area would have seen litle traffic other than that between the two Abbeys of Shrewsbury & Haughmond via a ferry (probably at Uffington).
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 1 regular beer.
