Originally called the Jolly Sailor, it is recorded that that in 1864 it was the busiest hostelery in the town. The main bar has beamed ceilings, timber columns and an open fireplace. This leads through, up a couple of steps, to the pool room bar. At the rear of the premises there is a tiered decking area, a covered smokers den, and a small car park.
Bought out as a free house in 2023 name changed from Jolly Abbot to The Abbot.
