This Pub is Closed Long Term
This busy town centre pub is popular with shoppers. It was the first Wetherspoon's outlet to open in the town in 1998, but was sold off and reopened under new ownershp in October 2019. A former furniture shop, it is bigger than it looks from outside. One long room has booths down one side and many local pictures, look out for the one explaining the name. The quieter area is to the rear of the room. Prices are very competitive for both drinks and food. Can be very busy in the afternoon and early evening and on Rotherham United home mach days. The three handpumps dispense beers from local microbreweries. Real cider is no longer available. Extensively damaged in an arson attack in December 2021. Application to demolish and replace with new building with change of use to 22 flats and 2 retail units on 5/5/2023.
