Situated a mile out of Cranleigh, the Boy & Donkey was a fine rural local. It dated from the 16th century and comprised three small rooms, one of which was used as a dining room. Real fires were to be found in each room, with the public bar having an inglenook. In the 1980s the pub was unusual in having a London 5s dartboard as well as a conventional one. Originally a Hodgsons of Kingston pub, it became part of the Courage estate and was sold to Morland of Abingdon in the early 1990s who closed it a few years later. It is now a private house.
