Was a Good Beer Guide regular many years ago but ended-up being the first of Theale's pubs to close in the mid-2000's after being left to decline.

Large Victorian unmodernised two-bar pub. Public bar on the right has pool and darts with a hall / skittles / meeting room. Lounge bar is comfortable and quiet. Food served on weekday lunchtimes. May not be open on Saturday lunch if Reading are at home. Train to Theale Station (1/2 mile) or 102, 103, 104 Bus.
