This thatched, stone-built pub overlooks the green in the Rothschild's model village of Ashton. The original 19th century pub, called the Three Horseshoes was renamed in the 1960's after a rare butterfly and re-arranged internally in 1997 following a fire.
There is a large bar/restaurant/family open plan area, roof terrace and a function room (The Butterfly Suite) to the rear.
Normally three mainly local, real ales are dispensed via hand pump. Two beer festivals are held each year. The pub also supports the Oundle Fringe festival.
The unusual pub sign is made from nails. The World Conker Championships were held on the green for over forty years.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
Changing beers typically include: Digfield - Fool's Nook , Grainstore (varies) , Oakham (varies)
