This Pub is Permanently Closed

Converted former main building of Widmerpool Station, closed to passengers in 1949 and as a through route in 1968. Originally opened in 1966 as the Schooner Inn, the decor retains a railway theme with a dedicated dining area even laid out to look like classical on-board first class dining. The menu is focused around homemade carveries. The adjacent track is part of the Old Dalby test track, recently used for testing new trains, including Pendolinos and London Underground.
