Recorded as a pub as early as 1675 in the Nottingham Sessions Roll, the Salutation is a white-washed, rendered building with black window surrounds, doors and fascias. This is very much a community pub with a welcoming atmosphere, which re-opened on the 23rd Sep 2023. A revised layout will increase the number of seats from 68 to 100, while new doors will bring light in and open the pub directly onto the patio. To bring something different to Keyworth and the surrounding area, the menu will focus on international tapas cuisine served both as small plates for sharing and as mains. The pub has 3 handpulls and one keg line featuring Theakstons IPA. The couple are also installing a barista coffee machine and will offer locally roasted coffee and hot drinks all day, as well as afternoon tea with homemade cakes.
Historic Interest
In 1855 the Salutation was a fully licensed establishment under publican W. Bradley and in 1876 under William Davill (Post Office Directories).
The Salutation is in Rushcliffe Borough Council's Keyworth Conservation Area.
As at November 2017, the Salutation's two freeholds (NT384319 & NT413068) were held by Punch Partnerships (PTL) Limited [Reg. No. 3512363]. These were transferred to Star (Heineken) on the 5th March 2018.
