This Pub is Permanently Closed
Consent was granted for change of use from A4 PH to B1 offices (P2013/4308/FUL) by Islington in 2013. The office use does not appear to have been implemented except on the top floor. Instead, the units were used as C3 long term and C1 short term residential accommodation. Planning perm was refused for the CoU to C3/C1 and dismissed at appeal in 2017. An enforcement notice was issued in 2018 which was upheld at appeal (APP/V5570/C/18/3201278) requiring the residential use to cease by 28/2/19 . Insofar as the 2013 permission for offices included kitchen facilities and shower room this was indeed a kind of Trojan Horse application and one we should all be keeping an eye on. Present use unknown but we would not be at all surprised to hear it is still being occupied as flats.
