This Pub is Closed Long Term
Re-opened in late 2011 after a period of closure this traditional pub is enjoying a new lease of life. A small snug at the front has been converted into an intimate dining room where customers can enjoy good value home cooked locally sourced food chosen from a limited menu of pub favourites, including veggie options and basket meals. The bar is split level with the higher section being a games area with pool and darts. Some modern artwork is on the walls but perhaps of greater interest will be the black & white local scenes. Don't look for handpumps on the bar as you will be disappointed, however, do peer at the shelf at the back of the bar and ask about any bottled conditioned beers that may be available. These tend to be sourced from local breweries, including Rhymney Brewery which has taken up residence in the town and has produced an ale appropriately called Blaenavon World Heritage Town at 4.5% abv. A public car park is a few yards south of the pub. Opening hours shown are for Winter and may be extended in Summer months. Facebook: Market Tavern Blaenavon
