Built in 1829, this clean, well-presented family-run pub is renowned for its food. Unusually a separate snug complements the lounge. The pleasant, sunken patio garden is an abundance of colours and flowers in summer. Children under parental control welcome. Very close to a swing-bridge (49) over the Macclesfield Canal, this is a good spot to watch the narrow boats.
