This Pub is Permanently Closed

This was an attractive 1920s building, long-owned by Shipstone's Brewery of Nottingham, then from 1997 it was owned by Oakwell Brewery of Barnsley. It had a relatively unspoilt interior, and was popular for darts. The pub closed in May 2013 with the closure of Oakwell Brewery. Subsequently Leicester City Council acquired the property, and it was demolished in 2019 in connection with a major redevelopment of the area.
