A multi-roomed busy town pub at the top end of town serving two ales, close to the main street and car parks, and worth seeking out.
Inside, the main bar has a wooden floor and a traditional dark wood counter with three handpulls dispensing two regular beers. The adjacent lounge has attractive light wood paneling, and a small snug is decorated with old signs.
The attractive courtyard, with its many flowers during summer, is a fine place to relax, and there is a cosy shelter within a very old outbuilding. The pub offers crib, dominoes, pool and TV sports, showing all regular Premier League football matches and major horse racing events.
Good value bar snacks include tasty pies from the Wyre Pie Company, sausage rolls and scotch eggs.
There are six en-suite rooms available with free Wi-Fi.
Historic Interest
Originally built as a private residence, it changed to a public house in 1840, and in 2016, upon becoming a freehouse, the pub and accommodation was refurbished to create a comfortable and quirky town pub.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
