This Pub is Permanently Closed
Formerly a traditional local's pub opposite the Rose Theatre and popular with theatre-goers, it had a terraced beer garden. To the rear was an ancient yew tree reputed to be 500 years old. The main lounge bar was to the right and featuresda wood burning stove set in a large alcove and to the rear, a small quiet lounge. Dominoes, crib, chaser and darts were played and cobs were available. Bank's bitter and mild were on electric dispense and the guest ale from the Marston's range.
