Hotel & Restaurant.

Traditional pub, the oldest on the Isle of Skye, is located in a beautiful setting among a smattering of whitewashed cottages strung along the shores of Loch Bay in the crofting (or farming) community of Waternish in the north-west corner of this beautiful island.

Locally caught seafood, landed at the nearby jetty, is served in the bar and restaurant. All meals are freshly prepared to order with a menu that changes daily in accordance with the season's availability

Three ales normally feature, and beers from Highlands & Islands breweries - e.g. Isle of Skye, Swannay, Cairngorm - are regularly served and there is also a selection of 125 single malts to choose from.

For the seafarer there are four council moorings situated in Loch Bay as well as the inn's own personal mooring. Landing is simple ... there is a tidal jetty on which to come ashore. Over and above the Inn's normal services, there is a specially designated "yachties" shower facility and a limited 'essential food supply' (provided prior notice is given) plus a message relay service.

A wonderful pub in a wonderful location which has been included in the Good Beer Guide since 2000. Winner of the 'Highlands & Western Isles Pub of the Year 2015' and Branch Area winner of the 'Skye & Western Isles Pub of the Year 2017'.

[Update 29 Jun 2023: Report of three hand pumps (without pump clips), almost totally hidden beyond a loudspeaker and flower displays. Two cask beers on sale: Isle of Skye Gold in fair condition and Orkney Dark Island in poor condition. Some language difficulties with the barman prevented a complaint being made. There was a Dark Island pump clip on a board, but nothing indicating that the Skye Gold was also being served, visitors would therefore be unlikely to notice that there was real ale on sale, so reducing sales and quality.]
