Popular bar located at Dingwall railway station, particularly busy on football match days due to the proximity to the Ross County Football Club Ground. There is an outside drinking area which borders the station platform.

Formerly, a single hand pump dispensed cask Belhaven 80/-, usually in good condition.

The Mallard can open at 10:00 using what is known as "grandfather rights". Under a 1976 law the pub is allowed to cater for railway passengers.

[Update 10 Aug 2024: "Just been in here today and no ale on sale and no sign of a hand pump either. Dingwall is an ale-free town sadly."]
