This Pub is Temporarily Closed

Its location is suitable as a meeting point for events as Hull's New Theatre is close by along with other pubs, bars and restaurants. Food is themed around chilli. The pub sells 6, mainly regional, cask ales and a number of ciders.

A community group (Hull Community Pub Society, a Community Benefit Society) was setup to make a bid to buy this pub and in December 2024 they completed the purchase. Pub closed for extensive refurbishments and is due to reopen in the Summer of 2025.

Historic Interest

Re-opened in autumn 2020 by the former licensee of another local popular venue, Chilli Devil. The pub itself was once multi-roomed but is now one large open space, with a central bar.

A community group (Hull Community Pub Society, a Community Benefit Society) was setup to make a bid to buy this pub, which was in the process of being marketed for sale, and with a planning application for change of use. The pub was ACV listed and a moratorium period was initiated. A share issue was launched on 21 February 2024. In December 2024 the society agreed with the owners on the sale of the pub.
