A very lucky village to have this pub! A 17th century coaching inn (Grade II listed), free of tie with three beers and sometimes one cider on handpump. The skittle alley, hire-able as a function room, is a focus of activity. The freehold owners handed over the reigns to tenants in December 2015 and the high standards have been maintained. May open bank holiday lunchtimes - contact to check - otherwise closed Mondays. Southern Hampshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2013. Just how a village pub should be.

Historic Interest

Of historic note is the fireplace. This was already 150 years old when it was acquired from the nearby Norman Court manor house and installed in 1830. Grade II Listed, and Historic England say mid 18th century - list entry 1296362.
