This Pub is Permanently Closed
This 1930's red brick pub is impressive from the outside; inside, the original layout and fittings remain mainly intact with a comfortable lounge with the original fire place still in position and use, a more functional public bar (also with an open fire) and a small 'off sales' counter which is no longer in use between the two bars, with each having their own door. The decoration features the silverware won by the pub teams over the years. The lounge bar opens in the evening only. Outside is a large garden with additional covered seating. The pub was built by Brickwoods of Portsmouth, and had a near identical twin with the now closed Holbury Inn on the edge of the New Forest.
Planning permission was given on 20/09/2017 to demolish the pub and replace it with housing. The exact date of closure is not known.
