A varied history under many names, culminating in the Cellar until February 2015 and then Stage Door - a 'cabaret style fringe theatre' with bistro and bar. 2020 saw the premises split into two with the upstairs bar becoming 'The Painted Wagon' - going back to its original name when it opened in 1971. This is styled as a sports bar but the Covid-19 lockdown delayed its opening until May 2021. The phone number is shared with Stage Door so we wait to see how the two parts will be run.
