A 400 year old listed building once owned by Oliver Cromwell. It was converted to a pub in 1986 and is somewhat hidden in a modern suburban housing estate with no farmland left around. Inside is an open plan L-shaped area with contemporary decor and farming pictures/memorabilia. Food consists of gourmet pizzas cooked in a traditional pizza oven behind the bar, supplemented by a sophisticated a la carte menu, plus a cheaper lunch menu. Outside is a patio with large timber benches in front of a grass area.

Historic Interest

A farmhouse is believed to have been on the site since the 16th century and is said to have been owned by Oliver Cromwell at one stage, but official records say it is a mid 19th century Tudor style house attached to small 18th century cottage, and Grade II listed. Historic England list entry 1111939.
