Basic village pub in a two pub village, it only seems to open evenings and weekends as is usual for a lot of villages, it is owned by the same people as the nearby Yorkshire Hussar but usually only one of the two is open at any one time. There is a small lounge at the front with a pool table in a front room opposite. Going through to the back, there is a larger public bar with a dartboard, small TV, machines and quite limited seating. This is a corner with bench seats plus three or four tables with chairs. Food is served but unusually for a North Yorkshire village pub it is not a food led place just a good basic village local for local people. Décor from some pleasant water colours and there is a large beer garden with smoking shelter reached via french doors in the public bar.
