Very handily placed just outside Cattal railway station. There are two linked drinking areas on the station side of the building with a common counter. It has two handpumps, one serving the house beer Balky's Best Bitter brewed by nearby Rudgate and the second serving a guest ale. There are two separate dining areas and a garden at the rear. It can get busy as it is very popular for food.
This pub uses Autovac.
NB. If travelling by train to/from this pub please note the following. There is direct access from the pub to the station platform for York-bound trains. However, you should leave plenty of time to reach the platform for Leeds-bound trains, which can only be accessed by crossing the tracks via the road. The road is closed five to six minutes before the departure time of the York-bound train, which is normally a few minutes before the Leeds-bound train.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 1 regular beer.
