Affectionately known as the Woody, the Woodman was originally the New Inn – Whitbread changed the name in the 1970’s. Now a popular pub opposite the village cricket ground, the Woodman Inn offers a varied menu. Live music at weekends and the pub hosts a well patronised Woodystock festival in August. Situated near to Whitemead Forest Park (Lodges, caravanning etc), backing onto a family cycle trail and convenient for the Dean Forest Railway. The pub can get very busy in the summer.
