Large popular pub serving three cask ales, and meals every day. The interconnecting rooms are festooned with bric-a-brac and there is large garden, skittle alley, dart board and also a pool table in the rear room.

Various entertainments and meal offers are posted on Facebook and there are Sunday roast dinners. A loyalty scheme is available for regular visitors. There is a camp site at the rear.

The pub may close early if it’s quiet.

Historic Interest

The pub was originally a farmhouse. It was bought by Simonds Brewery of Reading in 1952 from the Chester-Master estate and converted to a public house to serve the new Beeches, Kingsmill and New Mills housing estates. The pub takes its name from an old farm, which dates back to the late 17th/early 18th century with early and mid 19th century additions and alterations. There has been a farm on the site since at least the early 16th century when it belonged to the Abbey of St. Mary. Grade II listed. Historic England list entry 1298727.
