This Pub is Closed Long Term

There is extensive damage to the 1930s interior. Urgent repairs have been carried out following the threat of a Section 54 notice.

Planning permission granted in May 2018 to redevelop into office space in the pub space and residential elsewhere. Still boarded up Dec 2020.

Planning permission submitted in Aug 2023 to redevelop the site in a similar way with another application in October 2025 for shop/housing.

Historic Interest

Grade II listing:- Symmetrically fronted 18th century public house in yellow brick with red brick arches and reveals. Three storeys. Three flush-framed windows on 1st floor (outer ones double sashed) and 3 on 2nd floor with blind panels between, all segmental beaded. Front rises to parapet with hipped slated roof set back above. Narrow fascia with 4 later C16 windows and 2 entrances on ground floor. C16 extension to left not of special interest.
