Name derives from a cry for help to St Mungo, Patron St of Glasgow, from Queen Langouteth. Her husband suspected her of dallying with a knight. As the knight slept the King stole his ring (which the Queen had given to the knight, having had it given to her by the King) and threw it in the river. The Queen was asked to produce it and turned to St Mungo for help; he sent a man to the river with orders to bring back the first fish he caught. The man caught a salmon and in its mouth was the ring. Once a comfortable and friendly locals' pub. Open all permitted hours. Darts, public bar and snacks at lunchtime. Ex Charrington.
