This Pub is Closed Long Term

SEP 2025 - Closed 21st Sept and conversion to music school is now awaited.

JUL 2025 - The planning application was successful so the pub is likely to be sold and closed.

MAY 2025 - Under threat of closure as a pub. Planning App is 25/00405/P for Change of use of public house to music school (class 10). Has been for sale for sometime and no longer doing food which used to be popular.

A traditional locals' pub nestling behind the Waterside Bistro on the eastern side of the River Tyne, where a footbridge gives direct access to the town. The bar, with jugs, bottles and mirrors adorning the walls, has a horseshoe counter with one of the two handpumps operating. The spacious lounge doubles as a function room.
