This Pub is Closed Long Term

In a quiet valley in upper Weardale, this is an ideal base for exploration of this old lead mining area. The lounge has a pool table and TV, with comfy setees to sink into after a hard day's walking or cycling - the Coast to Coast route passes the door and the pub is a popular staging-point. The bar has a welcoming open fire, while the restaurant is popular for a more formal meal. Tables to the front of the building are busy in summer.
