Town Centre pub, with friendly hosts, located in the Market Place. Interior of historical interest, classic original bar, meals available all day. 5 hand pulls. Outside drinking area, regular beer is Timothy Taylor's Landlord, popular with locals. Folk night on a Tuesday, live entertainment Fri & Sat. Quiet room at the back except when live music is on. The rear entrance on Market Rd has been turned into the Rum Rooms cocktail bar & No.7 Fusion restaurant, this sharing the outside area between the bars. Note the Rum Rooms end is not open Mon-Weds.

Included for its front bar which retains distinctive old-fashioned character with boarded ceiling, bench seating and a good, full-length Victorian bar-counter. It has seen post-war changes, however (the blocking of the old central doorway and loss of an off-sales compartment) while the pub's back parts are much modernised.
