This imposing pub, which looks down Wingham's High Street, dates back to 1280 and featured in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Walk in through the door and you enter a comfortable pub with plenty of character, complete with dark wood beams, carpeted floors, subdued lighting and real fires. From the large corner bar three real ales are served, which occasionally includes ales from Kentish breweries. You can dine in the elegant restaurant or more informally in the lounge or bar area. The meals are competitively priced, with plenty of tempting offers, and are home-made from ingredients sourced from just a few miles away. At the back a patio makes a nice place to relax in summer.
