Set in an unspoilt and remote Cornish villag enot far from the Lost Gardens of Heligan, this is a delightful 16th-century community pub with low beams, slate flagged floors, and comfortable lounge/restaurant in an upper level extension. The former snug has been opened out but still provides a secluded drinking area. The pub sits over an old well, and the stone fireplace sports an original and working iron spit. A third beer from the St. Austell stable may appear in summer. Dogs are welcome in the pub (not the garden).
