Previously a china and glassware shop.

Now in their 6th year, this well established micropub is operated by enthusiastic licensees, after having experienced several years of disillusionment working for one of the PubCos, until they not only lost their livelihood, but also found themselves homeless. A very successful crowd-funded start-up came to the rescue.

Located in what was a truly old-fashioned china and glassware shop owned by Mr Horne, and who also owned the Whitby Gazette. The frontage would not look out of place in a Victoriana heritage museum. Next door is Sandringham House and which used to be a ladies' dress shop called Atkinsons and owned by Mrs Pyman. Indeed this area, away from the hustle and bustle of the harbour and fish quay, represents a true slice of Victorian Whitby.

Four real beers, three craft keg products and several ciders are served, together 70 bottled and canned craft beers, including some of low alcohol. Also a large range of 60 different spirits are served, all distilled in Yorkshire.

Dog friendly.

Children permitted until evening.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the harbour and fish quay, the area represents a true slice of Victorian Whitby
