Whitby's first micropub aims to provide a safe and enjoyable alternative night out. No lager nor spirits, no jukeboxes nor TV.

Sharron and Garry have now handed over the reins to Mark and Janine, of Arch & Abbey fame, so it'll be business as usual.

Aidan and Andy, from the Arch and Abbey, are behind the bar.

Dogs are welcome, but note space is limited.

Meet up, chat and drink good beers and ciders without being bombarded by technology and noise.

The six-yard-square pub gets busy at times, so please do not be disappointed if you cannot even get in!

Local CAMRA branch Cider Pub of the Year, for many years running, and also a previous Pub of the Season.

Now on new opening hours, 3 pm to 10 pm midweek, and 12 pm to 10 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Interesting tales abound about travellers, whose first language is not English, using it as the railway station's waiting room, humping in luggage, and not totally unreasonable when you think about the pub's name.

Continues to sell 6 real beers and a wide range, from dry to sweet, of up to 9 traditional and fruit ciders.

Three, third pints available for the price of a pint on beers and ciders.
