A discreet corner local, just off Mill Road, with roadside cycle parking. It consists of a single bar with a small snug to the rear. Furnished with simple tables and chairs plus a few barstools at one end of the wooden bar. Wood burner in the fireplace. Wood panelling and breweriana add to a yesteryear atmosphere. It is a pub for contemplation, conversation and beer and cider consumption. Oakham Citra is its regular beer. A second Oakham (frequently Green Devil) and Nethergate Umbel Ale often also feature on their six handpumps and there's always a dark beer. Its 10 taps feature interesting ones as well some more well known ones. Its six still ciders include some real ciders.
The Live reopened, under new management, in March 2022 with the aim of retaining many of the pub's key features.
