This Pub is Permanently Closed
A planning development request for the conversion of the pub into 4 one-bedroom flats and 2 two-bedroom flats (Class C3) was approved by Bromley Council in March 2014. The description below was written shortly after the pub closed for the last time.
This traditional Victorian pub sits on a corner and re-opened early in 2013, but its future is still not certain and as at mid-July 2013 is once again closed. Inside the pub there is dark panelling on the walls and the lovely art deco stained glass to the windows of the toilets are a feature. Part of the bar at the front of the building doesn't seem to be currently in use.
Addendum (March 2023): The Royal Albert appeared in the 1983 edition of the Good Beer Guide. Its entry reads:
“Courage Best Bitter, Directors (H)
Corner pub with folk club on Fridays”.
