Historic Interest

Delicensed on 01/05/12 landlady was Sarah Coleman and owner Punch Taverns. The pub was included in the 1980 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide. In May 1981 it was a Greenall Whitley pub selling Mild and Bitter (E). In January 1983 landlord Bert Wright was retiring and selling off his collection of Pub Watercolour paintings by RE Cooper at £20 each. The pub was bought by Greenwood Leisure and cask beer was back on the bar but it didn't last that long before it disappeared. The pub was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as by then it only sold keg beer, and this did not change before it closed. Workmen were noted converting it to residential use in late 2014.
