Rock House Hotel, Bolton (New Globe)

The Pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as Wilsons Rock House selling Bitter and Mild (E), with Juke Box, darts and dominoes. It was listed in the selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide in 1980. On March 8th 1981 it was visited on a Sunday Lunchtime Crawl. In May 1981 it was Wilsons Pub selling Mild and Bitter (E). A Branch Meeting was held here on January 13th 1982. By February 1983 the Mild was no longer available. On December 11th 1986 the Xmas crawl visited here. At some point before May 1988 the pub was no longer a Wilsons or Pennine Joke or Grand Met but Heron Corporation and they sold it to Bank's who replaced the Wilsons Bitter with Banks Mild and Bitter (E) and a social was held here on August 9th 1988. A Branch Meeting was held here on April 5th 1990. By 1992 in the Great North Western Beer Festival programme it was listed as selling Banks Bitter, the Mild was in identical electric pumps but was keg. By December 1999 the pub was selling Camerons Ruby Red Bitter and Banks Original Mild. Final Owners were GRS Pub Investments and landlord Graham Moores.
