Popular and comfortable roadside inn with a good reputation for food.

This large roadside building dates back to the 17th century and was formerly owned by Courage Breweries. It became a free house in 1976 and was run by the Smolarek family for well over 26 years. In Aug 2022 the pub was purchased by the British-Canadian Bauly Family who at the time also operated the Wheelwrights in Monkton Combe.

It has a comfortable interior set out mostly for dining with a traditional restaurant area at the front and a more light and airy conservatory at the rear. It backs onto the Two Tunnels cycle path leading to and from Bath, via the old S & D railway route. Bike parking available and the garden is accessed from the car park on the bike path.

Two beers from Otter: Bitter and a seasonal badged as the ‘Two Tunnels’ house beer; the cider is made at a local farm.

Often closes for the first two weeks of January.
