The Calvero Lounge is one of the Lounges chain of informal café bars which are open all day, every day for breakfasts, brunch and lunch, or dinner and drinks. Serving a wide range of food and drinks (including full kid's, gluten-free and vegan menus).

Originally the Embassy Cinema which opened on February 11, 1937 and finally closed its doors on December 10, 1969.

After its closure, the building was repurposed for retail use. It has housed various businesses over the years, including a Co-op supermarket and, more recently, an M&Co clothing store which closed in 2022.
